Goda London
About This Spot
Stepping into Goda London, you’re welcomed by the warm embrace of a laid-back yet purposeful atmosphere where the scent of slow-roasting lamb and spiced fire draws you in—a quiet anticipation already filling the room. This is a neighborhood gathering place where the rhythm slows to accommodate good conversation, and where the art of barbecue feels both familiar and thoughtfully elevated.
Here, the lighting softens the edges of the evening, allowing the crackle from the grill to become a steady heartbeat behind the hum of friendly chatter. It’s a space that invites groups and solo diners alike to settle in and savor the unfolding experience—not just of food, but of shared moments around the table. The atmosphere never rushes you; instead, it encourages you to enjoy the progression of flavors and the genuine welcome that flows from the attentive service.
At Goda, the food feels like a carefully crafted story told through smoky, tender meats and vibrant, fresh accompaniments. The experience of gathering around a generous platter—be it a whole roasted lamb or crispy rotisserie chicken—transforms a meal into a celebration of comfort and community. There’s a palpable joy in watching the evolution from charred edges and spices to the soft, melt-in-your-mouth textures that invite you to pause, savor, and share.
The cocktail bar complements this richness effortlessly, offering thoughtfully mixed drinks that match the depth and complexity of the food. Whether it’s a classic martini or a bold whiskey selection, each sip feels like a small ritual, perfectly tuned to the relaxed yet refined spirit of the place.
Perhaps what lingers most after an evening at Goda London is the sense of warmth—not just from the kitchens but from the people who make it all feel personal, from the host’s welcoming smile to the servers’ gentle attentiveness as they guide you through the menu. This is a spot where the generous portions come paired with genuine hospitality, making every visit feel quietly memorable and profoundly satisfying.

We came to celebrate a 50th birthday, 15 hungry men ready for a feast. The restaurant was quiet, which meant we could enjoy ourselves freely (and make a bit of noise ). The aroma of lamb cooking as we walked in set high expectations from the start. The starters were great, but the highlight was undoubtedly the 13.8 kg whole lamb, perfectly cooked, tender, and falling off the bone. It melted in the mouth and exceeded every expectation. We were initially unsure if it would be enough for everyone, but there was plenty to go around (and even some left over). A fine selection of sides and mezze complemented the meal beautifully, leaving us all full and content. Pleasing 15 men isn’t easy, but the team at Goda pulled it off brilliantly. We’ll definitely be back.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I went to Goda in London and it was an amazing experience! The meat was absolutely perfect — incredibly delicious and cooked to excellence. The flavors were outstanding. The service was also top-notch, very friendly, professional, and attentive. Everything from the food to the atmosphere made the visit unforgettable. Highly recommended to anyone who loves quality meat and great hospitality. I will definitely visit again

Great Turkish BBQ! We first noticed it when walking past and were drawn in by the meat on the grill, so we came back today to try it. The service was excellent — a young lady served us and was super friendly, explaining everything clearly. We ordered the meat set for two and the portions were huge. The bread was crispy, the homemade sauces were great, and the lamb was amazing — crispy on the outside and really juicy inside. It reminded me of hometown. We liked it so much that we’re already planning to order again for our Christmas gathering next week. Highly recommended!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We went to Goda London as a group of 10 for my second organised visit, and once again, it was an amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious, we couldn’t even finish the whole lamb (again!). The service was excellent, and the owner(Ersan) was incredibly kind and welcoming. Everyone left very happy and satisfied. Highly recommend for great food, generous portions, and warm hospitality.

Great food and service at Goda today. We started with Hummus and Taramasalata which was good. We shared a rotisserie chicken which was amazing. Crispy on the outside but very soft and moist inside, literally fell off the bone. Many talk about how good the food is here but we also found the service (by the lovely Deeba) to be bothered warm and very attentive.

We visited Goda London early on a Monday evening, and it was pleasantly quiet — perfect for a relaxed family dinner. My husband, daughter, and I ordered the mixed grill platter for two, which came with eight beautifully seasoned ribs, two juicy chicken quarters, a generous bed of bulgur, and a large Turkish-style salad on the side. Every bite was tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The owner was incredibly welcoming and attentive. He took our order promptly, and the food arrived surprisingly quickly. What really stood out, though, was his kindness toward our little girl — he brought her colored pencils and a page to color, which she absolutely loved and which gave us time to enjoy our meal in peace. It’s rare to find a place that balances great food, genuine hospitality, and a family-friendly atmosphere so well. Goda London is definitely a gem in North Finchley, and we’ll happily return soon.

Great service, with complimentary bread and dips. We had the chicken and lamb ribs mixed grill. This comes with a huge salad and bulgar rice. Everything was delicious. They also offered complimentary Turkish tea and Turkish delight. Very generous on the portions and hospitality. Lunchtime is more relaxed, but was told that evenings and weekends it gets very busy indeed! Closest tube Finchley Central.
